Parent governors are elected by parents and carers, while other types of governor are appointed by the LGC on the basis of their expertise or interest. My son joined Ringmer Primary and Nursery School in September 2022, and I was appointed as a parent governor in February 2023. In July 2025, I stepped into the role of Chair of Local Academy Committee, motivated by a strong commitment to refreshing and strengthening the governing board as we adapt to our evolving responsibilities following the school’s recent academisation.
I live in Ringmer with my husband and our two children. I can be found most weekends enthusiastically cheering from the sidelines as a keen supporter of my youngest son’s football team at Ringmer Rovers Junior FC.
Professionally, I work as a Programme Coordinator for the Local Resilience Forum, where I’ve developed a deep interest in strategic governance, risk management, and collaborative leadership. I’m excited to bring this experience, along with a proactive and forward-thinking approach, to support the continued success of Ringmer Primary and Nursery School.

I work in the education sector for NAHT the professional association for leaders in education. This gives me access to a lot of information and knowledge that help me be a good critical friend and helping achieve the schools vision. I believe that academic achievement is important but needs to be balanced. I take a holistic view of a school; it is important that school staff as well as our children are happy and encouraged. I want our school to help create well-rounded individuals who can make a success in the world and contribute in a positive way.
My role at NAHT is in recruitment and I have experience of managing budgets and leading teams. Before working for the NAHT I worked for a large not for profit leisure trust. I think this experience has helped me develop skills in management, finance and communication. I enjoy being a part of the governor team and supporting the school staff discharge their responsibilities effectively.

I have been a Manager for a high street bank for over 25 years and I relish bringing my skills and experience in leadership and people management to support, challenge and develop the school team.

I live in Ringmer and have worked for Roche Diagnostics for the past 20 years. I am currently the Training Manager for the UK and Ireland, specialising in Point of Care testing. If you’ve visited a local Sussex hospital, there’s a good chance one of our analysers will have tested your blood in the laboratories.
I am married and have two children, my son attends the school, so I fully understand the juggle of being a working parent - the booking of clubs/ sunset slots is a heart stopping moment every time!
Throughout my career, I have led large-scale implementation projects and developed strong experience in people management, training, and capability building. I am passionate about supporting individuals and teams to grow and succeed.
I wanted to become a Parent Governor because I have a genuine interest in the school and our local community. I also enjoy taking on new challenges and continually developing my own skills. I am keen to contribute positively and help make our school an even greater place for our children.
In my spare time, I love going to a Bounce class and catching up with friends. I also aspire to be more crafty, so I’m part of a local parent craft group that meets monthly at The Anchor.

I joined the LGC in March 2025. I live in Ringmer with my husband, three sons and our horse of a dog, Dougie (a Bernedoodle).
My two eldest boys are football-mad and play at Ringmer Rovers. I’ve gone from knowing nothing about football to it being my new favourite thing to do at the weekend (watching the boys play) and I’m constantly quizzed on who I think is better: Messi, Mbappe or Ronaldo? Or which kit I like the most this season.
I’ve worked in Human Resources for 18 years; my career started in the public sector; providing HR advice to Schools, Children’s Services, and Sussex Police with a heavy focus on employee relations. I moved to the private sector in 2016 where I gained a more strategic and commercial focus, working on organisational development, performance, culture, and I set up and lead a working group for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.
My passion is with people, culture, diversity, and inclusion. I know we perform at our best when we are happy and can be ourselves and I’d like to work with Ringmer Primary School to support this, for the benefit of the children, the staff, and the entire school community.

I joined the Governing Board in May 2025 as a Local Governor. I am the Global Product Manager at Edwards - a global semiconductor equipment manufacturing company involved in the manufacturing of bleeding edge semiconductor chips you'd find in phones, PCs, communication, BEVs and AI. I am responsible for the marketing and product management function and team for semiconductor dry pumps, ensuring the value propositions of our products are being realised, portfolio profitability, product lifecycle, etc.
I am a father to two adopted girls who attend Ringmer, and this is one of the primary reasons I pursued a Governor position. I feel I can provide valuable insight into the challenges looked after, and previously looked after, children (LAC/PLAC) face. I also have extensive business experience and I'm involved with balancing priorities and return on investment of complex technology projects on a daily basis.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, walking our dog, and I'm also a big gamer (video and board) and enjoy brewing my own craft beer.
