We have 45 spaces each year in our Reception class and sometimes have spaces available in other year groups too.

Primary School Admissions are administered by our Local Authority, East Sussex County Council and we adhere to their processes and policies for administering places fairly. In the event of there being more applications than places available, then East Sussex apply our oversubscription criteria (outlined in our admissions policy).

To apply for a school place you need to complete the request online with ESCC. Apply for a school place.

In year admissions
If you are interested in an in-year ( after Reception admissions) primary school place for your child, please contact our school office.

Key Dates:

• Closing date for applications for Year 6 children.  moving to Secondary school in 2026: 31st October 2025

• Closing date for applications for children starting school for the first time in 2026: 15th January 2026

Please note that attendance at our Nursery does not guarantee a school place with us.

Visits to Ringmer Primary and Nursery School

Parents/carers considering an application to the school are warmly invited to tour the school with the Headteacher.

Transferring From Another School

If you are moving to the area please contact the school office on 01273 812463 to discuss whether we have places available.

Parents and children transferring from another school are encouraged to visit the school for a pre-transfer welcoming visit to ensure they have all the information required prior to them starting.
