Our careers and enrichment curriculum is designed to broaden horizons, challenge stereotypes, and bridge the gap between classroom learning and the professional world.
We take pride in our strong community links, regularly inviting parents and local experts to share their career journeys during Science and Maths weeks, as well as within our Wellbeing program.
This engagement begins early; for instance, our Reception families are invited to bring the 'People Who Help Us' topic to life by sharing their professional experiences firsthand.
Inspiring Future Foundations: Our Year 5 & 6 Careers Fair
Our school hall was transformed into a vibrant hub of ambition and energy this week as Year 5 and 6 students hosted our Careers Fair. Linked to their current Wellbeing topic, "Jobs and Careers," the event was designed to broaden horizons and spark curiosity about the world of work.
The atmosphere was electric as students toured a diverse range of stands, engaging in meaningful conversations and listening to presentations from professionals across a wide spectrum of industries. From the logic of finance to the creativity of the arts, our learners caught a firsthand glimpse of the many paths available to them.
We were incredibly lucky to host a fantastic variety of representatives, including:
Public Service & Care: Police officers, a carer, and a childcare manager.
STEM & Finance: Civil engineers and an accountant.
Nature & Creativity: Local farmers, a professional musician, and the team from the Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare.
This valuable experience would not have been possible without our wonderful community. A huge thank you to the parents and local volunteers who gave up their time to inspire our learners. Your stories have undoubtedly planted the seeds for the next generation of professionals!
Maths Week 2025: Where Will Maths Take You?
To cap off an incredible Maths Week, our learners from Reception all the way to Year 6 stepped out of the classroom and into the professional world at our school-wide Careers Fair.
The event was a fantastic showcase of "maths in action," proving that whether you are designing buildings, managing finances, or saving lives, numbers are the universal language of success. Students had the opportunity to engage with professionals, ask insightful questions, and see firsthand how the concepts they learn in class translate into real-world careers.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to our wonderful parents and the local companies who volunteered their time for this project. Your demonstrations and stories helped bridge the gap between the whiteboard and the workplace, sparking curiosity and ambition across all year groups.
People Who Help Us
Each year, our Reception children embark on an exciting journey through their topic, "People Who Help Us."
Throughout the term, we welcome a variety of guest speakers—from our very own talented family members to local professionals—to share the "secrets" of their trades. These visits give our youngest learners a firsthand look at the diverse roles that keep our world running smoothly.
We are so grateful to the volunteers who take the time to inspire our pupils. If you have a job or a hobby you’d like to share with the children, please get in touch—we’d love to have you!
