Half-Term Homework - Children have been given double-sided SPAG sheets and three My Maths tasks, instead of two. This is their only compulsory homework. If the children would like to research WW1 or WW2, that might help them into next term's work. I'll leave it there...

Weekly homework will be:

  • 2/3 My Maths tasks. These will be set on a Thursday and checked by the following Wednesday. The first ones have been set! :)
  • There will be a SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) sheet sent out (paper copy) every Thursday (apart from the first week!). This will need to be completed and in school the following Wednesday as we will mark it together in class every Wednesday. Those that don't bring it back for Wednesday could well miss out on learning - there are always spares in the tray in class!
  • Three or four comments in the Reading Diary per week please - it would be brilliant if at least one of these is from a relative. In Y6 the expectation is that children read every day for pleasure and that they record their progress and thoughts about the book. We will be rewarding those who do this well. :)

Termly homework:

  • There will also be a more open-ended topic-related task set every few weeks. The children will be able to choose what they do, how they present it and when they bring it in. The deadlines will normally be between two and three weeks of setting so probably two each short term.
