If, at any time, you have any concerns concerning the welfare of a child you can speak
to any member of staff in total confidence who will then refer it to the Designated Teacher.

We take the Safeguarding of our children very seriously and believe two way communication with the parent body is crucial to this.

At our school we work within the following guidelines:

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is the Headteacher, Mr Evans. The Deputy Safeguarding Leads for Safeguarding are the Deputy Headteacher, Mr Powell and the inclusion Manager, Mrs Porter. For the Nursery the DSL is Mrs Gamble.

All our staff receive regular Safeguarding training and each carry guidance of what to do in the event of a Safeguarding disclosure.

Lots of information on Safeguarding in East Sussex can be found here at the East Sussex Local Safeguarding Children Board website.

Extremism & Radicalisation

This is fast becoming an important topic for everyone and we hope to engage the children in this subject through the curriculum and other activities. A guide for parents can be found in the folder below.

This new government website gives parents, teachers and school leaders practical advice on protecting children from extremism and radicalisation.

We are committed to the 360safe accreditation for e-safety, an award mark for schools who strive for safety for our children online.

Here are some useful leaflets provided by East Sussex County Council on e-safety for you and your children at home. You can also find useful advice at the CEOP advice centre by clicking their image below.
