Autumn Event

posted 31 May 2016, 22:56 by Kelly Cheesley

I know that we are not even at the end of this school year yet but we are already making plans for the Autumn event. We are planning on using the same venue as the Barn Dance but we wanted to change things around a bit. Perhaps a live band and something different from the usual hog roast?

If you have any suggestions for food, or a band that you would love to come and dance to, or any other suggestions please just email us -

Many thanks,

Kelly Cheesley

Guerilla Haiku Family Writing Session

posted 22 May 2016, 22:07 by Kelly Cheesley

In association with the Scarecrow Festival this year we have an additional family activity for you.

Come along and do some writing with your family.
It's easy to learn to write a haiku-which is a short, three line poem.
We will write haiku about places in Ringmer, making a word map of where the scarecrows are sited in the village.

Subhadassi, the workshop leader, has run family learning sessions at the British Library among other places, and over twenty years has run writing workshops in the UK, India, America and Japan-but never Ringmer!

Two separate workshops- 1.30-3pm and 3.30-5pm, Saturday June 11th at Shepherds Corner, Gote Lane, Ringmer.

£5 per family per workshop. Please sign up in the School Office. Limited places, first come first served.'

Scarecrow Festival

posted 17 May 2016, 22:23 by Kelly Cheesley

Our Scarecrow festival is back for its second year. And this year we are hoping that it will be bigger and better than before.

Ringmer Primary PTA are organising a Scarecrow Festival across the village on the weekends of the 18th/19th and 25th/ 26th June 2016. We are hoping to raise funds for the school and set up a fun event for families and other residents. We would love to attract some visitors to the school and village too.

What is a Scarecrow Festival?

Very simply you make a scarecrow in any way you like and display it in front of your house over the two weekends of the Scarecrow Festival. Feel free to be funny, topical, mysterious or decorative in your display because it all adds to the fun.

We would love as many people as possible to get involved. Tell your friends and neighbours. Letters and entry forms came home last week, but there is a copy on the PTA page of the website for you to read and print if required. If you would like a copy just speak to Claire Chapman or Kelly Cheesley.
